Battery Installation Focus
This engineer description is tailored for a professional focused on Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS), particularly in the installation, testing, and commissioning phases for client projects. The role emphasizes hands-on site involvement and technical compliance.
Installation & Site Support Associate
This is an entry-level role, focused on learning and assisting with the practical, on-site execution of BESS projects under direct supervision.
- Core Role: Assists in the site-specific planning, installation, and preliminary testing of battery energy storage and related power electronics (inverters, switchgear) for client installations. Ensures adherence to safety protocols and technical standards on-site.
- Key Responsibilities:
- Installation Support: Works with site contractors and technicians to support the physical installation and wiring of battery racks, inverters, and electrical balance of plant (eBOP).
- Quality & Safety: Conducts basic quality checks on installed components and wiring; strictly adheres to and helps enforce high-voltage safety protocols and project-specific Method Statements.
- Testing & Data Collection: Assists senior engineers in initial system energization, testing, and data recording (e.g., measuring voltage, current, insulation resistance).
- Documentation: Maintains detailed site logs, test reports, and "as-built" redline drawings, ensuring documentation accurately reflects the final installation configuration.
- Troubleshooting: Provides initial assistance in diagnosing simple electrical faults or wiring issues discovered during the installation and pre-commissioning phases.
- Skill Focus: Foundational knowledge of DC/AC power systems, ability to read and interpret single-line diagrams (SLDs) and electrical schematics, and a strong commitment to on-site safety and quality.
